Love So True

Today as my day begins anew,
once more loving thoughts return again to you.
Staying always close by my side,
holding me tenderly on the nights I have cried.

No matter what was going wrong,
your love was something I could depend upon.
A soft sweet kiss to start each day,
missing you already as you were on your way.

Daydreaming I start to reminisce,
about the night so long ago and our first kiss.
Feeling your soft lips touch mine,
hearts brought together until the end of time.

Before long we would both know,
passion ignited this night had started to grow.
Times spent at the beach or park,
cupids arrows had definitely found their mark.

Weekends camping just you and me,
two young hearts bound together for eternity.
Starting to discover so many things,
never knowing for sure what tomorrow brings.

Then one day you would propose,
every Friday bringing the gift of a single rose.
Wanting the rose to always signify,
love so pure and true was never going to die.

Our wedding day of sweet bliss,
that day exchanging yet another tender kiss.
Taking vows as husband and wife,
wanting to be together for the rest of our life.

Always faithfully here by my side,
your love lasting and I would never be denied.
Held by a lover and my best friend,
assuring me you would be there until the end.

Now as nighttime is drawing near,
you will be home with nothing for me to fear.
A welcoming smile upon my face,
caught up once more in your loving embrace.

Days, nights and moments to share,
lasting love I could count on to always be there.
Thank you darling for a love so true,
but thank you too sweetheart for just being you.
