Quiet Time

I sit and look out my front window,
watching all of the clouds as they drift by real slow.
A pleasant day to enjoy the pretty view,
and not be worried about other things I should do.

Butterflies are floating by gracefully,
birds singing out cheerfully from a nearby oak tree.
All of natures flowers in full display,
ready to be placed onto a table in a lovely bouquet.

Quiet time spent in reflective thought,
how life has changed and the life lessons it brought.
Wondering if I could go back and change,
was there any experience I would want to rearrange.

Life is filled with many times of sorrow,
but hopes always continue for a brighter tomorrow.
When again we can enjoy each new day,
all unpleasant memories appear to have gone away.

Soft music playing in the background,
my body keeping rhythm with the delightful sound.
Soothing sounds for my troubled mind,
this quiet time alone, I need to completely unwind.

A knock on the door interrupts my day,
the time gone when I was able to briefly slip away.
Try your best when tomorrow does arrive,
just to take some pleasure in life and try to survive.

Enjoy some free time taking long walks,
spend quality time with loved ones having nice talks.
Any good book to read when you're able,
laying there, close by, on the kitchen or coffee table.

These are a few of my favorite things,
when I reflect in my quiet time of what my life brings.
If there has been any time I had doubt,
there was always one place where I could find out.

Hidden inside are the lessons of life,
those filled with happiness, painful regret or strife.
But when you do meaningful reflection,
the true lesson is always there in your recollection.
