With Pen in Hand

Writing now, with pen in hand once more,
to the true love of my life the one I adore.
Missing you every day while we are apart,
you are always held deep inside my heart.

I never imagined the day, I first met you,
all of the heartache we would go through.
Although we will never give up nor give in,
thinking together ... somehow we will win.

Today I have met my own true soul mate,
realizing, it was destiny and both our fate.
Traveling far, over the ocean, to propose,
I carried, for my love, one single red rose.

Only a single red rose to eternally signify,
lasting love I offer which shall never die.
Dreams now fulfilled you would marry me,
tender moments to spend for all eternity.

Always and forever, to stay, by my side,
days now complete with you as my bride.
Pledging our hearts, on our wedding day,
a true sacred love, remains here to stay.

Separated by two different governments,
numerous letters have already been sent.
Trying to get them to grant our petitions,
wanting to have their needed permission.

My dearest, as I write this letter to send,
all governments, this love will transcend.
Never giving permission was very wrong,
Darling, don’t give up for me, stay strong.

I shall soon be flying to bring you home,
from that day on we will never be alone.
True love and faith will carry us through,
in closing, always remember, I love you.
