I looked
ahead at the mountain and it seemed
to reach
clear up into the sky.
I watched as over my
head beautiful clouds
went peacefully
floating by.
I wondered at my own
strength to be able to
make it all the way to
the top.
Even though I was completely out of
breath
I was determined I would not
stop.
For our life every day is much like
a mountain,
challenges for every step we must
take.
There is always a steady hand there to
lead us
through and guide every move we
make.
Whenever you are faced with this
long journey
and where life’s pathway will
lead you.
Don’t ever be afraid and turn away
or turn back,
God is waiting and will see you
through.
The path to the top was now
finished and done,
I looked behind and to
my surprise.
This huge mountain I had feared
was so very small
I could not believe my own
eyes.
The mountain had seemed
overwhelming to me,
doubts if I could make it
on my own.
But the one thing I had forgotten
in that short time,
is we never face this
life journey alone.
So when you too must
climb the mountain of life,
look back to see
where you have been.
There will always be a
winding long path we take,
but faith and hope
will carry us to the end.
Don’t get
discouraged and decide you cannot win,
you
can make it with determination and will.
And
don’t be surprised when you too look back
to
find your big mountain was only a
hill.
