Walking Alone

As twilight time started setting in,
I heard a soft voice whisper to me.
My child we should talk for awhile,
Where it came from I could not see.

Glancing around the barren desert,
Walking alone on my nightly walk.
Who was it there whispering to me,
Why was there a need for us to talk.

Your mind is filled with much fear,
This is not how I want things to be.
If inside, secret concerns you have,
Turn your worldly cares over to me.

Looking all around me once more,
At everything to my left then right.
I listened closely hearing yet again,
My child, let go now of your fright.

Then a brilliant light ahead of me,
One others have witnessed before.
Knowing it was my precious Lord,
A vision hard for anyone to ignore.

I fell humbly down upon my knees,
At this wonderful sight I could see.
Standing before me was our savior,
Wanting to set a troubled heart free.

God, please forgive my weakness,
I am so glad you are forever there.
You always know when I need you,
Even at times when I am unaware.

Please lift my spirits, let them soar,
Up high with you where you reign.
Leaving all worries as you request,
Allowing faith and hope to remain.

Arise again child renewed in spirit,
Never allow doubt today to seep in.
I shall always be here for mankind,
When each of you call on me again.
