There is a strong wind blowing,
Down off the mountain tonight.
Provoking our minds to wonder,
Can we survive to morning light.

A blizzard hits without warning,
Never any chance able to prepare.
Lights and phone completely out,
Suddenly filled with total despair.

The roads concealed completely,
No view from the front window.
Stranded alone snow piling over,
This house and the valley below.

Is there any chance I could walk,
What hope would there really be.
Looking out beyond the window,
Snow blankets fully all the trees.

Our vacation home so isolated,
Secluded and hidden from view.
Trying to keep hopes somehow,
A rescue crew will get through.

Far off in the distance we heard,
The rumbling of snow mobiles.
Our crying followed by laughter,
Relief which brings us all chills.

Anxious to start on this journey.
Humble prayers answered now,
Stranded and thought forgotten,
But intervention God did allow.
