 I wish I could paint
pretty pictures, To go along with my words
that rhyme. But alas I haven’t the
talent, And find I also do not have the
time.
I went to a couple of friends of
mine, To see maybe what they could
do. They said just get some supplies for
us, We will be very glad to help
you.
I hurried to the local art store to
buy, All of the supplies they would
need. I was sure with their combined
talent, Somehow, they were going to
succeed.
I made sure I picked up some cat
food, At the pet store so they all could
eat. Picked up a bunch of catnip
too, Because that, is their favorite
treat.
Excited . . . I drove back home
and, Put the art supplies on the table. I
assured them all there is no hurry, Just try
to do it when you’re able.
I guess I
should have not given, Them any of the catnip
at all. Soon they were running around The
room, everyone having a ball.
I wonder
can they really paint, I guess we will have
to wait and see. Suddenly they were rich and
famous, With their names on a
marquee.
What to charge for their
paintings, Can you imagine the
sight. Giving out paw prints as
autographs, You see . . . my friends can’t
write.
But they did offer to help
me, I am sure that is what they said. I
wonder . . . did I just imagine it, Or did
they just want to be fed.
