Land of Liquid Sunshine

I live in Oregon in the Pacific Northwest,
It really is though the place I like the best.
I refer to it as the land of liquid sunshine,
If you enjoy the rain you will do just fine.

You don’t need to buy any suntan lotion,
Here we all kind of move in slow motion.
Never in a real big hurry to get anywhere,
Just kind of kicked back in an easy chair.

Going out on a boat to catch a fish or two,
Maybe take a nice leisurely trip to the zoo.
Taking time outs for a picnic at the beach,
Walks in a park if one is within easy reach.

Sometimes we enjoy four seasons a year,
Sunshine warming and bringing us cheer.
Leaves turning so many colors in the fall,
If you pause to take in the beauty of it all.

In the wintertime we even get some snow,
Bringing to everyone's cheeks a rosy glow.
After the snow has all melted and run away,
Then time once again for another rainy day.

It is beautiful here and green everywhere,
Bright blue skies and butterflies in the air.
The rain is responsible for the air so clean,
Everything here grows so lovely and green.

If you are fortunate to come upon a brook,
Hidden in the back where no one can look.
You might just want to go for a swim today,
Plenty of time for one if you decide to stay.

Always able to go in the woods for a walk,
Even enough time for a little friendly talk.
I always knew it, right from the very start,
The land of liquid sunshine stole my heart.
