Sparkle

On my way home I found a cute little kitty,
She was hurt really bad but she was so pretty.
I hurried home with her as fast as I could,
Hoping my Mother would make her feel good.

My Mother’s eyes were filled with surprise,
When I handed her my wonderful furry prize.
A beautiful little kitten with long fluffy hair,
Mother handled her with tender loving care.

“Honey, you know we cannot keep her here.”
Then down my cheek rolled a single tear.
“Mother she is hurt, please let her stay,
She is so tiny and won’t get in the way.”

“We will have to hide her from your Dad,
If he sees her, he will be really mad.”
Hiding my little kitten out in the fruit shed,
With a bowl of milk to make sure she was fed.

Then one day as my Daddy was going by,
He heard that cute little kitten let out a cry.
Into the house with the kitty Daddy came,
“Well tell me young lady,
does your kitty have a name.”

Naming her Sparkle because of her shiny hair,
From that day on my kitty was always there.
No need to worry about her going away,
Sparkle became a part of our family that day.
