I have a friend who to me is so dear,
Someone I can confide in without any fear.
There to listen to me when I need to talk,
In my thoughts with me if I go for a walk.

Trying to cheer me up when I feel blue,
Helping with, whatever I am going through.
Spending enough time to get me to smile,
So I can forget my troubles for a little while.

Always doing her best to understand me,
She seems to know when to just let me be.
Worried if she can’t reach me on the phone,
Knowing in her heart, I just need time alone.

I call this sweet friend my shining star,
Her kindness and love you can see from afar.
Lighting a pathway for me to find my way,
To help and comfort me if I need to pray.

How did I get so lucky to have her be,
This special friend sent to watch over me.
She must have been sent from heaven above,
Giving me what I want, a true friend’s love.

Whenever I need her she is always around,
I am sure, no better friend could be found.
My hope is we will always stay together,
For the two of us to remain friends forever.
