Ocean View by Brenda Sparkman

This seems to have been an extremely long year,
But our yearly vacation time will soon be here,
Over on the coast a place we can visit and unwind,
Leaving all of our worries and cares behind.

There a lovely room awaits us with an ocean view,
It has a wonderful hot tub for us to relax in too.
Watch a movie, play games or sit in an easy chair,
Opening the balcony door for some fresh ocean air.

Huge waves come rolling constantly into the shore,
Bringing a calming peace to our hearts once more.
Able to just sit there and watch the sunsets each night,
It is breathtaking to see, what a wonderful sight.

This year we will spend an entire week at the beach,
Everything you need is nearby within easy reach.
Long quiet walks on the beach for just us two,
A much needed vacation which is long overdue.

The smell of fresh salt water completely fills the air,
Feeling the breeze as it softly blows through our hair.
Each time when we can get away to go to the ocean,
Our hearts are always filled with lots of emotion.

We always look forward to getting away each year,
But the week seems to fly by, to just disappear.
We know when we have to return home after our rest,
The time we are able to spend together is truly blessed.

If you are tired and your body and mind is worn out,
Plan on taking some time to just lounge about.
Any cares or worries you had will too soon disappear,
If you will just take a little vacation time each year.
