On our wedding day we took a vow,
For our love to be all God would allow.
God brought us together and was aware,
A love like ours would need tender care.

Two hearts blending together as one,
A true love story that had just begun.
Wedding bands exchanged when we said I do,
Pledging our love to remain forever true.

Shadows now dance gracefully on the wall,
Looking at them fond memories I recall.
A strong love built a very long time ago,
Which over the years has continued to grow.

All of these years we have been together,
Holding each other no matter the weather.
I am still as much in love with you as then,
I would go back and marry you over again.

Usually I am in our lovely house all alone,
Waiting each night for you to come home.
Then out of the shadows you appear to me,
The sight of you my heart is so glad to see.

The moment my heart has waited for,
For you to return again to me once more.
A smile, a hello, a soft kiss from you,
A tender embrace shared between us too.

Each time you appear out of the shadows to me,
I thank God for allowing this love to be.
Hearts blended by God’s will so long ago,
A very special love only you and I know.
