 The
princess was very lonely and dreamed of the
day, Her prince would come and rescue her and
sweep her away. Beautiful golden brown hair
with every hair in place, Combed ever so
softly back away from her lovely
face.
Her long flowing gown reaching all
the way to the floor, She was breathtaking,
which no one in the kingdom could ignore. The
finest threads were used by the seamstress of
silver and gold, To spin beautiful dresses
for the princess, a true sight to
behold.
But out of the gloom of the
castle the princess longed to be, To remain
forever in the arms of her prince, safe and
free. Her prince would hold her tight in his
arms from that day on, He would not only be
handsome, he would also be strong.
She
told all of her ladies in waiting how she longed
for him, But with each passing day she waited
her hopes grew dim. The princess looked out
the castle window as far as she could
see, Was her prince out in the back beyond
the ancient oak tree.
She tried to get
down the long stairs as fast as she could, No
one must see the princess running, it would not
be understood. Racing to the door to look out
onto the street at the people there, She
looked both ways but did not see her prince
anywhere.
The Fairy Godmother was right
there as she came back in, “My princess where
have you been?” “If it is the prince in your
dreams you are longing for, You must once
again my dear, go back out the front
door.” “Stepping out of your dreams is the
only way, Your prince awaits you in the
carriage with a lovely bouquet.”
There
outside was the carriage it had not been there
before, The prince she had always dreamed of
opened the carriage door. A new journey for
two young lovers hearts now bound as one, A
lifetime together forever . . . just
begun.
