Safe Harbor

One day while we were out fishing,
A mighty storm we did not see.
All fighting so hard to stay afloat,
No rescue for us there seem to be.

The mighty storm raged on,
It was not going to set us free.
All of us there so frightened,
Our boat tossed upon the windswept sea.

From the sea a voice we heard,
So loud and so very clear.
“Do not worry my children,
you have nothing to fear.”

“I am right here to protect you,
And I will stay here by your side.
I will see you safely into port,
Safe passage for you I shall provide.”

Suddenly the once angry waters,
Were as calm as they had been before.
We could see far off in the distance,
The lighthouse from the shore.

Trust in God he is always listening,
And he does hear your plea.
God had guided us safely home,
As he had promised us out at sea.
