As the mist keeps
moving in from the sea, It keeps gathering
around my body so gracefully. I hear a song
once again I have heard many times
before, One we use to dance to so slowly
around the floor.
A beautiful haunting
melody from out of the past, One about our
true love we were so sure it would last. I
think back to all the wonderful days we
spent, The two of us together so completely
content.
Last night you came home from
work late again, No explanation for me of
where you had been. You could not even bear
to look at me, If you had, there was nothing
but my pain there to see.
I could smell
the perfume when you walked in the door, This
wasn’t the first time, I had smelled it
before. In just a few days you say you will
be leaving me, Now I find myself here alone
staring out at the sea.
How do I pick up
all of the pieces of my broken heart, I don’t
know where to begin, how to even start. I
just know now somehow I must move on all
alone, Saying goodbye to the only love I’ve
ever known.
