On February 7, 1964 a British invasion
hit our shore, Our music would soon be
changed for evermore. Screaming and adoring
fans greeted them when they arrived, All of
our parents wondering how they would
survive.
No guns or rifles they held in
their hand, It was just four British lads who
had formed a band. They first started out
playing in a band in Germany, But soon were
kicked out because George was only 17 you
see.
So back to Liverpool they went to
start all over again, This dream of theirs
would not come to an early end. Playing their
debut gig in Liverpool, at “ The Cavern”, on
February 9, 1961, it was just a local
tavern.
That was the real beginning and
history in the making, Soon these four young
men would have all young girls
shaking. Screaming their first names so loud,
more like a roar, Girls passing out from
excitement and collapsing on the
floor.
Their charm and wit took the
American media by surprise, On February 9,
1964 their dreams they would soon
realize. The debut of the Fab Four on The Ed
Sullivan show, His introduction of “The
Beatles” I am sure a lot of you know.
73
million tuned in to watch the show that fateful
night, And we were completely entertained to
our hearts delight. A new disease sweeping
across our nation for everyone to
endure, "Beatlemania" for which there was no
known cure.
How to pay a tribute to “The
Beatles” who to music gave so much, For all
of the countless people their music would some
day touch. Thank you Paul, John, George and
Ringo too is all I can say, You will all
remain in our hearts forever and a
day.
