I have traveled far this time down the road of life,
Enjoying a lot of happiness but also my share of strife.
I’ve met many different people all special in their own way,
Each has a gift to share no matter how long their stay.
Some people I fondly remember at the end of the day,
Thankful how they touched my life if even in some small way.
I will continue on my journey trying to learn right from wrong,
Always doing what I can to help the weak and the strong.
Trying my best to keep in mind what God said to me,
My journey would be a long one to set his people free.
I’ll admit it has not been very easy this journey of mine,
I keep looking for things to try and help me unwind.
I seek solace at the beach with the peaceful waters there,
Listening to music waiting for it to take me somewhere.
I have cried so many tears I can not begin to count them all,
Some for sad times and others for fond memories I recall.
So tired from my long journey I feel I can no longer breathe,
But who will do my work if I just suddenly decide to leave.
If you should pass me and you can see I am looking weak,
Put your arms gently around me for it is comfort I seek.
Trying my best to wait patiently to return home once more,
Back again to Heaven to my peaceful home by the shore.
The Angels in Heaven keep calling out so very softly to me,
“Keep your head up and faith in your heart you soon will be free.”
