There is something special that you and I do,
We make sure we reserve time for just me and you.
It is referred to as our date night and it is plain to see,
That we really don’t want or need any company.

The love we share so special needs tender care,
To do that we have to make sure no one else is there.
Off into our own lovers world on date night we go,
Time together for our love to continue to grow.

We unplug the phone and won’t answer the door,
This is our special night and all others we ignore.
It is just you and I alone and completely free,
To fix a lovely dinner and maybe watch a movie.

Sometimes soft music playing in the background,
Or maybe going for a quiet drive around town.
It never has mattered to You or I what we do,
As long as we take time out for just me and you.

Date night can be any night you want it to be,
Try it yourself and maybe you too will see.
That person you love so much is still right there,
But you need to take the time to make them aware.

I sometimes wonder if other people do this,
Special moments spent for a hug or a kiss.
I know we both love it when we are sitting there,
Sharing this love of ours with such tender care.

There is such a very nice warm feeling inside,
Thankful for our love which we do not want to hide.
Do you really have any idea of what it can do,
Keeping the romance alive is all up to you.

We seem to be in such a rush in our lives today,
Please don’t get so busy and let your love slip away.
Start now having a date night and you too will see
Your own true love can last for an eternity.
