Going To The Beach

I just love going to the beach,
The ocean is always within easy reach.
Cuddled up on a blanket and snuggling up real tight,
Who knows you might even want to spend the night.

You can always go for a walk in the sand,
Maybe even while holding a loved ones' hand.
Or you can watch a kite being flown through the air,
Fluttering lazily about, not really going anywhere.

Children, dogs and grownups all at play,
Each having a wonderful time in their own way.
Surfers on their surfboards, "Hanging Ten",
Oops, looks like their board flipped on them again.

Girls in bikinis trying to get the perfect tan,
What they get is sunburned, laying there in the sand.
Look at the cute little dog chasing the ball over there,
There goes another frisbee flying through the air.

While you are there if you should get the notion,
You can drive down the coast to look at the ocean.
You can watch it rolling onto the beach in huge waves,
Or slamming against the cliffs, into a cove or the caves.

Way out in the ocean off in the distance you will see,
A fisherman taking people out on a fishing party.
Everyone with their trusty fishing rod in hand,
Hoping their fishing trip will go as planned.

These people are here with just one mission in mind,
The perfect spot where all the fish they will find.
Some people having a cookout on the beach at night,
Fixing hotdogs or hamburgers until they are just right.

Plenty of soda pop or beer for everyone on hand,
Don't forget to put out the fire, be sure you use lots of sand.
If you are lucky and can plan the time of year just right,
Watching a beautiful sunset awaits you each night.

When you return home you will be so glad you went,
Hours and hours of peace at the beach well spent.
The ocean is the best tranquillizer I know,
I can't wait until the next time we go.
