Everyone needs a place reserved in their heart,
If they don’t have one yet they really should start.
I refer to it as an essential emotional bank account,
And I really do feel overflowing is the right amount.

Get your own bank account started without delay,
Please, don’t put it off until tomorrow, do it today.
Always be sure to carefully tuck each deposit away,
Then you can withdraw it if needed for another day.

Did you know when you make a deposit for you?
You are also making one for the other person too.
You will know every deposit was in the right place,
If you feel a glow or see a smile on another face.

Every time you visit someone you know or love,
Take the extra time to give them a kiss or a hug.
It can be anyone, a good friend, your mom or dad,
Everyone getting a hug feels good and will be glad.

There are thoughtful phrases you can hear or relay,
Lovely words of, “I love you” or “Have a nice day”
A gift of love to light up yours or someone’s face,
Wonderful days spent together you cannot replace.

There are going to be some days when you are alone,
And there is no one close you can talk to on the phone.
This is when you reach down deep inside for a memory,
Having this emotional bank account might set you free.

Keeping special memories close to easily embrace,
Can help you through tough times you might have to face.
Those days you withdraw from your emotional bank account,
No need to check the balance there is always the right amount.
