I Am But A Messenger

I am but a messenger of no real value or worth,
Just a simple message to bring down to earth.
While I was in heaven, God gathered us about,
He said, “I need someone to get the message out.”

I was at the back and usually very quiet you see,
I stood up very quickly, “Oh, please let it be me.”
God answered, “This mission will really be tough,
There will be resistance, are you strong enough?”

I answered, “Oh Father, I know what I can do,
And whatever happens you will see me through.”
God said, “We need to prepare to get you ready,
With special things to keep your journey steady.”

We went into the warehouse, it is like a store,
Plenty of aisles everywhere and shelves galore.
God picked up a large basket and as we walked,
He tenderly put his arm around me as we talked.

God said, “ My child, I love you this you know,
Other people are in doubt who you must show.”
“They may all have questions about what you say,
But their return to heaven can only be one way.”

“Understand it is their true salvation I seek,
Those of pure heart, the strong and the weak.”
“Do not hurry for your mission will be so long,
Bring all my children home where they belong”

I knew God wanted me to do as I had before,
This was a special mission, one not to ignore.
God is right here listening to end your concern,
If you feel heavy in heart with no place to turn.

God always has plenty of love for you and me,
You have to trust Him and set your spirit free.
Give your heart to God and change your ways,
Spend life in heaven for the rest of your days.
